Why Must Women and Children Be First? Offensive to some?

As an adult male I tell you that it is an honorable thing to do. Women and children are likely less capable of surviving in an emergency than men because they are gennerally less physically fit. Because of this an honorable and respectable male of any society would rather that no person be left to die. He would offer his strengths, skills, and experience to help those who are less capable. If a woman was very fit and could easily save herself she would be held to the same unwritten code of ethics to save those in need. I would never allow another person to die when I could help them and it is terrible that the world has come so low that you would trip a woman or child and let them die for your own selfishness.
